1997

Elm Grove Companies Co-Founder David Schleyer begins investing in multifamily real estate, moving into a 5-unit apartment building on the west side of Manchester, NH.

2004

Elm Grove Companies Co-Founder Newton Kershaw III leaves a career at Lehman Brothers in New York City and moves back to Manchester, NH, moving into a 2-family apartment building on the west side.

2009

David Schleyer and Newton Kershaw III form an equal partnership and found Elm Grove Companies.

2011

Elm Grove Property Management is formed. Chris Schleyer, who had been managing 2,000 apartments and a staff of 120 employees in Florida joins as a principal to organize Elm Grove Companies growing multifamily operation.

2011

Elm Grove Realty is formed to manage the brokerage needs of Elm Grove Companies.

2012

Kindler Development Group is formed to manage the construction needs of Elm Grove Companies.

2012

Elm Grove Companies reaches 25 employee threshold.

2013

Elm Grove Companies wins the Business NH Magazine Real Estate Business of the Year Award.

2013

Elm Grove Companies wins the Neighborhood Preservation Award from the Manchester Historic Association for 307 Merrimack Street, Manchester, NH.

2014

Elm Grove Companies wins the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.

2015

Elm Grove Companies wins the Downtown Rochester Award for Community Re-development for 2-6 North Main Street, Rochester, NH.

2015

Elm Grove Companies reaches 50 employee threshold.

2016

Elm Grove Companies’ client Matt Menning joins Elm Grove as a principal after growing a 150-unit apartment portfolio in 3 years while working as a full time engineer and completing a Master’s degree.

2016

Elm Grove Companies structures first private equity real estate project, raising over $900,000 of equity for a $4,000,000+ multi-family re-development project.

2017

Elm Grove Companies structures second private equity real estate project, raising over $1,900,000 for an $8,000,000+ multi-family acquisition.

2017

Elm Grove Companies acquires third private equity real estate project, raising over $1,000,000 for a $5,000,000+ mixed-use multi-family re-development.

2017

Elm Grove Companies acquires fourth private equity real estate project, raising over $1,400,000 for a $6,000,000+ mixed-use multi-family re-development.

Elm Grove Companies wins the Plan NH Merit Award of Excellence.

2017

Elm Grove Companies reaches 75 employee threshold.
